What is your success?=pregnancy - I have a beautiful 3.5 year old son. He was conceived on injectables.

How long had you been trying?=1-2 years

Any secrets to your success?=I found a doctor that was agressive - he only did 3 months of clomid and was giving me several ultrasounds and when he saw that wasn't working he started injectables and played with the strenght and I got pregnant right away. My doctor before never monitored me very close and I had several miscarriages... make sure your doctor monitors you very closely.

How long had you been trying?=(I was trying for

almost 2 years):

Any secrets to your success?= I started with Clomid, and stayed with it longer than most (7 or 8 cycles) because I *did ovulate on it ... sometimes. Unpredictably. I was afraid

of injectibles! But when I got up to 200 mg. of Clomid, and didn't ovulate

on that, and the addition of dexamethasone and metformin was not helping, I

decided it was time to move on. I conceived on my first attempt with

Gonal-F, a subcutaneous injectible. I had a good experience with Gonal-F.

The shots didn't hurt; there were ultrasounds so I knew exactly what was

going on; and there were only 2 days of being "on schedule" (those of you

who have been on clomid know what I'm talking about here ;) I was also

taking Metformin at the time I conceived, but stopped it as soon as I found

out I was pregnant. Ultrasounds showed three mature follicles, but I wound

up with one pregnancy. :) I'm nearing the end of my first trimester now!

My only "secret" is faith, prayer, keeping informed, and exellent medical

care.

I went off the birth control pill in January '98,

and started 1500 mg. Metformin that May. Added

50 mg. Clomid in September. Conceived that

cycle. (I believe I ovulated about 28 days after

my last period, not after the ususal 14 days.)

2-5 Years

3. Use this space to share any secrets you would like to regarding your

success.

Unfortunately, fertility meds didn't work for me. My pregnancy is entirely

due to a laparoscopy and ovarian drilling which was performed in February

1998. I conceived my miracle in August of 1998. It's the best thing I ever

did during my infertility nightmare! Much cheaper and less side-effects than

years of medication. This may not be for everyone .. but it truly has

performed a miracle for me!
